Las Vegas Snow 2008

Creative + Documentary

Project Overview

Desert Snow is a short documentary-style video capturing an uncommon snowfall in Las Vegas, filmed during a rare 2008 weather event. This piece combines natural ambient sound, slow camera motion, and stark environmental visuals to highlight the surreal contrast of snow against arid desert terrain. The video serves not only as a visual record of a once-in-a-decade moment, but also as an exploration of how nature occasionally breaks its own rules—even in places known for extremes.

On Dec 17, 2008 Las Vegas, NV experienced record snowfall. In Henderson we received 4 to 8 inches of snow in about 6 hours. Here is a short clip of my neighborhood on that day.

Project Scope

The Value of Visual Storytelling

Some stories don’t require narration—they just need to be witnessed. Capturing unexpected events like Desert Snow gives brands, filmmakers, and institutions the chance to build emotional resonance and historic relevance. If you’re looking to document real-world phenomena with artistic restraint and cinematic discipline, I can help you deliver the moment as it truly felt.
