Preserving a Vanishing Legacy

For more than two decades, Andrew Hall has explored and documented the austere beauty of the American Southwest and beyond. The deserts, mountains, cultural landscapes, and fragile ecosystems of Southern Nevada are under growing threat from unchecked development and urban sprawl. Vanishing Wildlands is an ongoing photographic and video series that bears witness to the depletion of one of our most precious resources: open land. Each gallery contrasts the resilience and beauty of wild terrain with the scars of human expansion, asking what we lose when short-term growth is valued over long-term sustainability. This project is both archive and alarm — preserving memory, raising awareness, and calling for a more responsible relationship with the landscapes that sustain us.
